Video View

Video View was a solo exhibition by Dylan Khotin-Foote held at Soft Gallery in Edmonton, Alberta from May 10 to June 8, 2024. The exhibition was an exploration of works created using analog video mixers, painters, cameras, and CRT televisions.

A variety of looping video works were displayed on three 9" Panasonic PVM's each placed upon a plinth as well as one 14" Sony PVM mounted to the gallery wall. Four 11x14 framed prints were also featured in the exhibition. In addition, another 14" Sony PVM along with a modified Sony video painter were featured at the entrance to the main gallery space to serve as an interactive element for attendees to create drawings of their own and gain insight into the artist's process using this equipment.

A 28 page zine of the same title was created as an accompaniment to the exhibition featuring select works from the show as well as bonus material. The zine was available for purchase at Soft Gallery, then later exclusively stocked at the Khotin Industries Bandcamp, and at Commune in Tokyo.
